The Pearlington Project's efforts are currently concentrated on the reconstruction of homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
We have begun work on Sandra Merle's home (left). We cut down numerous dead trees adjacent to Sandra's home, and gutted her shed. Then, after Eileen and Linda Edwards from Pickin' up the Pieces stripped her house to the studs, we tore down the wall still standing after the tree hit her house, pulled up the flooring to assess the floor joists, fixed the floor and installed new footers.

At Debbie Sonnier's house, we cut down an enormous dead pine that stood a foot from her house, and have since cut it up and removed the debris from her neighbor's yard.
We also hung cabinets and a bathroom door, drywalled, and purchased and installed new curtains, a new countertop, and insulation in her house.
Pearlington Project Coordinator Tom Dalessandri, and volunteers, such as Carbondale Firefighter Roger Ball (right) and paramedic Terry McShane (below), have cut down numerous trees that died and became hazardous as the result of the hurricane and storm surge.
Emergency Preparedness Plan
The Pearlington Project set up a Mobile Communications Trailer in Pearlington, Mississippi and has formulated an disaster plan
for Pearlington under the direction of Project Coordinator Tom Dalessandri. Carbondale Fire Dept donated an ambulance to use as a mobile triage unit for future storms
and we presently refurbishing a US Forest Service trailer to use as a mobile field clinic.
